Roland Asue

Roland Asue (亜末ローランド) is an ally in Cap Revolution Bottleman DX. He is voiced by Shun'ichi Toki.

Description[]

Roland is 16 years old. He is the rank #9 Bottle Star and the most beautiful Bottle Battler in the world. He refers to his fans as "Rolans".

When he was a homeless child on the streets, he encountered Io Hocari and Eri Hocari, who showed him kindness and introduced him to Bottle Battling. Since then, he has become a Bottle Battler due to his admiration for Io. Therefore, he hopes that Ryo will get to understand Io's earnestness through Bottle Battling.

During Ryo's Burst rampaging, Roland, along with Shiman Ijuin and Ayata Ebarata, are tasked by Io to search for Ryo in a research facility. But along with his fellows, he is knocked out by Ryo before he could report on the latter's location.

He later joins with other BMA supporters against B-DACT and later Team Citrus. He tries to have a duel with Haku Kurenai, but is still overpowered by the Champion. He later actively teams up with Seimei and Ryo to interrogate Machiko Hocari and Professor Rootbeer, and later infiltrates the BMA headquarters after learning that Citrus is hijacked by the AI.

During the Bottle King deciding Bottle Royale, Roland teams up with Shiman and Ayata against Cota, only to be eliminated by Cota afterwards. He is last seen cheering for Cota and Ryo with their friends and rivals after the AI crisis is over.

Appearance[]

Roland is a teenager with long platinum blonde hair with pink streaks, tied into a ponytail. He has dull pink eyes. He has piercings on left ear.

He wears a red jacket with yellow and green accents, a white shirt underneath, and dark indigo pants. Around his neck is a dark indigo scarf with a silver pin shaped as the Cancer constellation symbol. His footwear are a pair of black sneakers with white accents.

Personality[]

Roland, true to his namesake, is charismatic, flamboyant and effeminate. He regards Bottle Battling as a beautiful sport, due to his fateful encounter with Io Hocari.

Despite his usual elegance, Roland sometimes shows a more fearless side, such as actively going on missions against questionable causes, even if it means risking his own safety.

He sometimes makes metaphors related to crabs or fruits when speaking.

Roland's Bottleman is Earthroller DX, a control-type Bottleman with the motif of the Cancer constellation.

Background[]

His name comes from acerola, a type of fruit that's often made into juice.
- His first name could also be a pun on "rolling", befitting Earthroller DX's roller parts' gimmicks.

He shares the same voice actor with one of the Black Suits in DX Side Story.
As revealed in Episode 31, Roland is one of the few people who is aware of Haku's split personality before Haku finally revealed so voluntarily.
